This is not a Guide activity, but is a fantastic opportunity to spend a day with the family, exercise, and raise funds for another community organisation.
The Ride the Rails activity is a bike ride along the Rail Trail from Lucas to Smythesdale. This annual activity is organised by the Alfredton Lucas Lions Club.
Departing from the Coltman Plaza Lucas car park in Dyson Drive at 9:00am.
You can choose to cycle a return circuit to :
- Cuthberts Road (4km)
- Haddon (14km)
- Smythesdale (28km)
Entry is $5 per person, with children under 12 free. Children under 16 need to be accompanied by an adult.
Public toilets are available along the way at the Haddon Recreation and Smythesdale. Bottled water and fruit will be available along the ride.
This activity will be cancelled under the following circumstances:
- Total Fire Ban
- Forecast winds with gusts greater than 90km
