Aussie Day in the Bush
12/08/2017
In Ballarat we are lucky to receive a visit every 5 years from a Japanese Girl Guide unit.
“Troop 17 of Hyogo Council” will be visiting from Inagawa, Ballarat’s sister city. We last met up with this unit when they visited us in 2012. The girls love to experience our Australian culture and we are pleased to be able to spend a day with them in our Aussie Bush.
All Ballarat Guides are invited to come along and spend time with the Japanese Guides. The day will be filled with Australian activities.
When: Saturday, August 12th
Time: 1:00pm – 4:00pm (eat lunch at home before you come)
Where: Grab the details from your Unit Leader
Cost: $10
Wear: Camp uniform (uniform polo shirt and jacket with warm pants). No badges or sashes. It is winter, so coats and beanies may be required.
Bring: Drink bottle of water and snack for afternoon tea.
RSVP: Form and money to your Leader by August 4th.
Contact: For more information, contact your unit Leader or Cherie 0407770583
The Japanese Guides, like Australian Guides, are all members of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts). The girls and Leaders will be staying with local families for the week and visiting several Ballarat tourist attractions, as well as some activities with our Guides.
