SmArt Winner

SMART – Sustainably Made Art from Recycled Trash

Congratulations to Xanthe O’Donnell from the Butterfly Guides for winning first prize in the 8-12 year old section of the SmArt recycling competition. Xanthe made a swan using recycled garbage bags.

In line with National Recycling Week, The City of Ballarat ran a SmArt contest at the Ballarat Show with the purpose of  increasing the understanding that waste can have useful purposes, such as art. It helps participants be more conscious of the environment and the effects of landfill.
