Gnomes in the Rain

A Day with the Gnomes

The weather reports declared Wednesday 11th July to be the coldest Ballarat  day for the year. But that didn’t stop our youngest Girl Guides from enjoying their special day out with the Gnomes. The Lingbogol Guide camp was transformed into a lovely gnome garden.

Ballarat Girl Guide Leaders, Julie-Anne and Astrid, organised a Day with the Gnomes event for Guides aged between 5 and 7.  Twelve girls attended from various units.

Julie-Anne stated that attendance in such weather conditions was

proof that not even the weather can dampen the Guiding Spirit of our girls and their leaders.

The mystery and secrecy of this delightful event means that we can’t divulge too much information as we don’t want to spoil the surprises for those who attend next time. Without being too specific, the day included:

  • STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities
  • exploring the outdoors
  • caring for the environment
  • learning a little about some of our animal friends
  • making new friends
  • and having fun

Mother Gnome and Garden Gnome are taking a well-deserved break, but will organise more activities for our girls soon.
