Ellie Simmonds

I have such happy memories of being a Brownie and I enjoyed the opportunities Girl Guiding gave me, especially going on camps and all the crafts.

At 13 years old, Eleanor (Ellie) was the youngest member of the 2008 British summer olympic team. She won two gold medals for her country. She competed again in 2012 and 2016, winning many medals and setting various records.

Ellie believes that her time as a Rainbow and Brownie helped her develop the skills she’s used to become a winner in her sport and success in other roles – including being a Guide Leader.

Ellie has been the subject of a book, and has written a series of her own.
