Debbie Reynolds

Debbie Reynolds is best known for acting in movies and winning beauty titles. She was also a Senior Girl Scout who worked hard to earn 42 merit badges as a Senior Girl Scout.

Debbie was a great supporter of Girl Scouts and joked that she wanted to become the world’s oldest living Girl Scout.

She was the leader of her daughter, Carrie Fisher’s troop and in 1966 participated in a three-year program designed to encourage more girls to participate in Girl Scouts.

When Gene Kelly asked Debbie if she could do a time-step (referring to a dance step), she misunderstood and replied,

“Yes, I learned it at Girl Scout camp!”
