World Teachers Day 2019

Teachers at Guides Night
Happy World Teacher’s day to all of our school teachers.
For the last 13 years, the Delacombe Junior Girl Guides have acknowledged this special occasion by inviting their school teachers along to a “Teachers at Guides Night”.
On a very hot Thursday night, teachers took time out from their personal schedules to attend Guides from various local primary schools:
- Mount Clear P.S.
- Forest Street P.S.
- Buninyong P.S.
- Delacombe P.S.
- Lumen Christi P.S.
- Alfredton P.S
- St James P.S
- St Thomas More P.S.
The teachers were treated to an evening of traditional Guiding activities including:
- Guide Ring
- Cooking (and eating) s’mores
- Outdoor observation game
- Ballistas
- Sash and badge making
- Taps
Teachers were presented with a special badge, certifcate, and packet of Girl Guide biscuits.
Teachers Day is acknowledged world-wide and is celebrated in Australia each year on the last Friday in October.
