Tim Tam Day 2020
February 15, 2020
Australia is home to the Tim Tam and February 16th is allocated to celebrating Tim Tam Day.
As much as we love eating Tim Tams, we thought it would be a better challenge for the girls to make something with the biscuits. Each patrol was supplied with a packet of biscuits, coconut and condensed milk to made their own Tim Tam Balls. This was a yummy exercise in working together, taking turns, sharing and patience.
Yes, it was a little bit messy. Each Guide took home her own bag of Tim Tam Balls (well, we assume they made it home).
History of Tim Tam Day
The Tim Tam was first thought of in 1958 by Arnott’s. Creator Ian Norris decided that the English didn’t know how to make a proper biscuit and thought he could make a better one. The result was two chocolate malted biscuits with a fluffy cream filling, dipped in milk chocolate.
Ross Arnott named the new product after a horse that won the Kentucky Derby in 1958
