2017 Visit from Japanese Girl Guides

December 27, 2016

Japanese Girl Guides coming to Ballarat

Japanese Girl Scout in BallaratOur last visit from Japanese Troop 17 of Hyogo Council was is 2012 when they stayed in Ballarat for a week to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their unit.

The girls and Leaders from Ballarat’s sister city, Inagawa, are set to visit us again in August 2017 to celebrate their 35th anniversary.  The girls are aged between 12 and 16 and have been practicing their English skills.

We are finalising Guiding homes for them to stay between the 6th and 13th of August.  If you are a member of a Guide unit (preferably a 10+ aged unit) in the Ballarat area and would like the experience of hosting a Japanese Girl Guide, please use our online contact form to request further details.

Many of our host Guides from 2012 are still in contact with the Japanese Guides they billeted. This is a great opportunity for everybody involved and we look forward to meeting our visitors soon.
