Trefoil Gone Home Memorial

February 4, 2023

In August of 2022, our Ruff Diamond Trefoils participated in the Victorian Trefoil Guild Gathering that was held in Ballarat.

We had been invited to organise and present the Guides Own and kept with the friendship theme that had been the focus of the weekend.

Participants were each provided with stones and encouraged to write on the names of friends who had gone home.  We committed to laying these stones at our local campsite, Lingbogol, and our first Trefoil session for 2023 was partly spent creating a Gone Home memorial using the stones.  These were layed at the special Quiet Corner that was created in 1988 in tribute of past members of the 1st Ballarat Trefoil Guild.

As we joyously commemorate the centenary of Guiding in Ballarat, it is important to acknowledge those before us who have profoundly influenced the Guiding movement we enjoy today.

Additional stones are available in the OBP Lodge at Lingbogol so that Trefoil members who come to stay will have the opportunity to leave further stones for us to add to the memorial.
