Mother & Daughter Night

The Delacombe Junior Guides have celebrated Mother’s Day with a special pyjama themed activity where mums were invited to come along and join in a night of Guiding with their daughters.

The annual mother and daughter event coincided with National Sleepover Day (acknowledged in the United States), making it a perfect opportunity for the girls and their mothers to spend time together in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. In their pyjamas, of course. Girls and mums were donned in a colourful assortment of pjs, slippers and oodies.

Throughout the night, the mums and daughters worked together to create and use shadow puppets, mime performances, and to make a useful Mothers Day gift.  The mums completed a questionnaire that revealed fun and interesting facts about themselves; this turned out to be an eye-opener for the girls, who learned many new things about their mums and their lives.

This was a lovely evening and the perfect lead-up to Mother’s Day.
