Sponsor Night @ Guides
Tonight we acknowledged the support of our sponsors with a special event organised by our Guides.
Our younger Guides (5 to 10 year olds) spent the previous week preparing slices to serve for supper. They made rum balls, lemon slice and clinker slice. Luckily there was a sufficient quantity for the girls to enjoy some as well.
Our older Guides (10 to 15 year olds) spent several weeks organising activities they thought they sponsors would enjoy and that would reflect Guiding.
As this week contained National S’more Day, it was an obvious choice that cooking s’more would be on the program. This is a favourite Guide activity and the girls never really need an excuse to make it happen.
The challenge was to make lava lamps with plastic bottles and a few odd ingredients. The results were colourful and quite effective.
In true Guiding traditional, the evening finished with some campfire singing.
Certificates were presented to the sponsors in attendance.
We are very fortunate in Ballarat to have local businesses willing to make donations to help cover expenses, such as the annual registration fee of volunteers.
Please consider supporting these businesses when the opportunity arises.
