Happy Birthday Dr Seuss
One of our Guide units has celebrated the birthday of Dr Seuss with a special activity night.
The Guides participated in several Seuss-based activities, including:
- listening to The Cat in the Hat story
- making Green Eggs and Ham (and eating it)
- making fridge magnets
- constructing Cat in the Hat kebabs
- mixing green Oobleck
Dr Seuss
Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2 in 1904 (died September 24, 1991). He was an American writer, cartoonist, animator, book publisher, and artist. His most famous work is authoring children’s books under the pen name Dr. Seuss. His work includes several of the most popular children’s books of all time, selling over 600 million copies. These were translated into more than 20 different languages.
Geisel published over 60 books during his career, mainly using the pen name Dr Seuss, but sometimes Theo LeSieg or Rosetta Stone.
