Canoeing @ Creswick

On what started as a beautiful, sunny Saturday, the Morland Canoe Team arrived at St George’s Lake in Creswick with a trailer load of canoes, oars and life jackets.
And then the fun began ….
Forty two Girl Guides from Ballarat experienced the thrill of canoeing and learnt the importance of teamwork as they worked together to manoeuvre the vessels and meet challenges.
Dani and Mandy first explained the safety rules and necessary techniques, then the girls canoed independently on the Lake. Some of our older Guides took on the challenge of learning how to safely capsize the canoe and swim it to shore.
