St Patrick’s Day

This week many of our local Girl Guide groups acknowledged St Patrick’s day with a variety of fun activities focusing on the theme.

The girls added a little bit of green to their uniforms and enjoyed activities that included:

  • searching the lawn for a four leaf clover
  • thinking about some of the aspects that make us lucky and fortunate in our lives
  • learning about the Irish Brownie Guide motto (also our previous Australian Brownie Guide motto) of Lend a Hand and accepting the challenge to help out and lend a hand at home
  • decorating biscuits with green icing and embellishments
  • making and drinking a green soda spider
  • playing glow in dark skittles
  • making shamrocks from pipe cleaners
  • making cute green turtles
  • viewing authentic Irish items
  • playing a “green eggs and ham” version of noughts and crosses
