Happy S’mores Day

August 12, 2022

This week several of our Guide Units took the opportunity to program activities to align with S’MORES DAY.  This is a national day that is enjoyed in American, but we love making s’mores too.

The first recorded version of a s’mores recipe can apparently be found in a 1927 publication of ‘Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts’ and they were mentioned in reports as early as 1925.

Between three units of different ages, we practiced lighting matches safely, tried lighting different types of fires, cooked marshmallows over a flame, made s’mores, played a variety of s’more themed games and made s’more swaps.
