Congratulations to Des Hudson on his appointment as mayor of Ballarat.  Des has always been a great advocate of youth services in Ballarat and a valued supporter of Girl Guides.

Des Hudson voted in as city’s mayor

VETERAN councillor Des Hudson has been officially appointed as the city’s next mayor.

Cr Hudson got the nod from his fellow councillors at special council meeting on Monday night. Cr Hudson vowed to be transparent at all times and represent all residents regardless of “where they live, what they do or their political beliefs.”

He also vowed to work with all levels of government to ensure key outstanding projects were delivered in the last year of the council’s term.

During his 13 years on council, Cr Hudson has worked under eight mayors alongside 26 different councillors. Cr Hudson was the only councillor to nominate for the role. Councillor Belinda Coates was also officially as elected deputy mayor.
