Dad & Daughter Night

Ahoy there, mateys! When the annual Dad & Daughter Night coincides with Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19th), it only makes sense to combine the two for a swashbuckling good time.

The Delacombe Junior Guides and their fearless dads set sail for an evening of pirate-themed fun.  Under the command of the fearless Captain Tunabreath, alongside First Mate Viscous Wobblyknees and the notorious Scurvy Hookhand, the group of salty seadogs and their little lassies embarked on a night of excitement and laughter.

First on the docket was a spirited game of “Captain’s Coming”, where the crew had to swiftly follow pirate commands, testing their memory, quick thinking, and reflexes. Shouts of “Scrub the deck” and “Man overboard” had everyone scrambling to keep up with the orders.

Each young buccaneer then got to work, assembling and decorating parrot lollipop holders.  This was followed by some intense cannon practice. Armed with paper cups and balloons, the crew aimed and fired marshmallow cannonballs.

The night finished with cannonball relay, where dads and daughters teamed up to pass balloon cannonballs down the line, over their heads and under their legs. Coordination, sharp reflexes, and teamwork made for a thrilling race to the finish,

Such a fun night.
