St Patrick’s Day

This week many of our local Girl Guide groups acknowledged St Patrick’s day with a variety of fun activities focusing on the theme.
The girls added a little bit of green to their uniforms and enjoyed activities that included:
- searching the lawn for a four leaf clover
- thinking about some of the aspects that make us lucky and fortunate in our lives
- learning about the Irish Brownie Guide motto (also our previous Australian Brownie Guide motto) of Lend a Hand and accepting the challenge to help out and lend a hand at home
- decorating biscuits with green icing and embellishments
- making and drinking a green soda spider
- playing glow in dark skittles
- making shamrocks from pipe cleaners
- making cute green turtles
- viewing authentic Irish items
- playing a “green eggs and ham” version of noughts and crosses
