Girl Guides Take Action for a Cleaner Community
🌍 Once again, our Girl Guides have stepped up to make a difference in their local community by participating in the Clean Up Australia initiative. Each year, our Guides dedicate their time and energy to this important cause, helping to create a cleaner environment by removing litter from parklands, waterways, and residential streets.
This year, our units tackled a range of locations:
- Delacombe Junior Guides tidied up a local school ground.
- 1st Sebastopol Guides focused their efforts on Victory Park and the surrounding streets.
- Alfredton Guides and Begonia Junior Guides worked together to clean the Lucas playground area.
- 11th Ballarat Guides collected rubbish from the streets around their hall in Brown Hill.
By the end of the day, many bags were filled with rubbish and recyclables, leaving these spaces noticeably cleaner for everyone to enjoy.
Clean Up Australia provides the perfect opportunity for Guides of all ages to contribute to their community through hands-on service. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the initiative, with more than 800,000 Australians taking part nationwide. Our Guides were proud to be among them, making a real impact – one piece of rubbish at a time. ♻️
