Girl Guides is a group for girls to meet together each week to:

  • Make friends
  • Learn new skills
  • Have fun
  • Help others
  • Try new things

Girls are in groups with other girls of a similar age.

Who Can Join?

Any girl can join Girl Guides.

It does not matter where you were born, what language you speak, or what religion you follow. We welcome girls from every country, culture, and belief. If you are a girl who wants to make friends, have fun, and try new things — you are welcome at Girl Guides.

Girl Guides is for all girls.

Who supervises the Guides?

Girl Guide groups are led by trained, female volunteer Guide Leaders who are kind, skilled, and trustworthy. They give their time to help, support, and help each girl in the group.

To keep everyone safe, all Guide Leaders have passed important safety checks, including:

  • A Police Check
  • A Working With Children Check
  • First Aid and CPR training

Girl Guide Uniform

Practical & Respectable

What do Guides wear?

Girl Guides wear a simple uniform — a Girl Guide polo shirt and a jacket. You can buy these from the Girl Guide Shop, along with a hat and sash for badges.

Because Guides come from many different cultures and religions, girls may add practical clothing items to the uniform if required. This might include a long-sleeved top under the polo shirt or a head scarf. 

We want every girl to feel comfortable and respected.

When do Guides get together?

Guides meet in Ballarat  on different days of the week in different locations. And sometimes they all meet together for special activities.
