What do Guides Do?
Guides meet once a week with their friends at their local Guide Unit, where they take part in a wide variety of fun and purposeful activities. In the hall, they might be cooking, crafting, doing science experiments, learning new skills, playing games, earning badges, or helping their community.
Special events and adventures are also organised to give Guides the chance to try exciting activities they might not experience elsewhere — such as abseiling, canoeing, outdoor cooking, camping or rock climbing.
Whether indoors or outdoors, every week brings something new to explore, learn, and enjoy.
Girl Guides take the lead
At Guides, girls don't just participate; they actively shape their experience. Through the Australian Guide Program, girls are encouraged to contribute ideas, make decisions, and plan activities that reflect their interests and aspirations. Whether it's organising a weekly program or planning a camp, Guides are empowered to take initiative and develop leadership skills in a supportive environment.
This girl-led approach ensures that every member has a voice and plays a vital role in creating a fun, inclusive, and dynamic program.
