Walk in her Shoes

March 9, 2016

Girl Guides Australia are proud supporters of CARE Australia’s Walk in Her Shoes challenge.

Globally, Girl Guides have a vision of a world where “All girls and young women are valued and take action to change the world”. Walk In Her Shoes is an opportunity for our Guides to advocate by:

  • Speaking Out: telling people what they hope to achieve
  • Educating Others: explaining what it means to live in poverty and how we have the power to help
  • Taking Action: participating in the challenge

Walk In Her Shoes

The Walk In Her Shoes event is held every March and challenges participants to walk either 25km, 50km or 100km and raise money for women and girls living in poverty.

This week, in the 38 degree heat, the Ballarat Begonia Girl Guides walked 2.1 km at Lake Wendouree and raised $150.
