2017 State BP Award Certificate Presentation

Girl Guide BP AwardOn Saturday,  May 27, two Ballarat Girl Guides were amongst those in attendance at the annual State BP Award Certificate Presentation in Yarraville.

Across the state, 31 Guides completed the syllabus for the BP Award and were presented with certificates by State Commissioner, Lynne Emblin, in the presence of their families and the Victorian State Team.

The event included the reading of citations that detailed the various challenges each girl undertook to earn the special award.

Girl Guides BP AwardAshleigh and Elizabeth, from the 1st Sebastopol Girl Guide unit, were recently presented with their badges at a special local ceremony that was attended by family, local Leaders and their peer unit.

Unit youth members provided supper, formed the colour party, participated in the ceremony and congratulated the girls on their achievement.

 

BP Award

The BP Award is one of Guiding’s peak achievement awards and is named after the founder, Robert Baden-Powell. The Guides work on the syllabus over a period of several years, completing challenges for various components:

  • Promise and Law
  • Guiding traditions
  • Service
  • Patrol system
  • Outdoors
  • Leadership

Ashleigh and Elizabeth join a large group of Guides from Ballarat who have earned this peak award.
